Bio
The Fairbury Journal-Feb 23, 1928 Jacob Richey (sic) died at his home at 1007 Second street in Fairbury, on Monday, Febr. 20, 1928, at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 29 days. He had been failing in health for the past year and had been seriously ill for a few weeks before his death. Jacob Ritchey was born in Ohio on March 31, 1849. He moved with his parents to Missouri when but a small child and came to Jefferson county in October, 1881. They located on a farm south of Fairbury, living there until about a year ago when they moved to Fairbury. In 1869 he was married to Nancy Preston and to them eight children were born. One daughter, Alta, died in 1901. He is survived by his wife and seven children, Mrs. John Reesman, Mrs. Henry Townsend, William S. and Bert, all of Fairbury, Mrs. Pearl Johnson of Kansas, Joseph of Hastings, Nebr., and Mrs. Lucretia Carl, living in California. Funeral services were held at the Richardson funeral parlors, Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Wm. Park of the Baptist church as minister. Year of death on stone switched around with wife Nancy Jane. Jacob passed in 1928 and Nancy Jane in 1932.
