Death Takes One More Old Pioneer Mrs. Emily Mankins died at the home of her grand-daughter, Mrs. Wm Eldred, on North State street last Wednesday afternoon. She had been ill for several months past and her death was not unexpected, owing to her extreme age--81 years. Emily Lynch was born in Illinois, February 2, 1829, and was married to Peter Mankins in that state March 11, 1852. She came to California with her husband in 1853, and to Ukiah in 1864, making her a resident of this place for over 46 years. She was the mother of 9 children and of these she is survived by 5. They are D. E. Mankins, Mrs. Samuel Orr, Mrs. J. R. Knowles, P. E. Mankins and Mrs. R. E. Donohoe. Her last illness was attended by no pain whatever and she passed to her rest peacefully. The funeral was held from the Baptist church yesterday afternoon and was attended by a large concourse of friends and relatives.
