Bio
Thomas Jefferson Harper was the son of John C Harper and Sarah Hurst. His father, John C Harper, died in 1849 in Cape Girardeau, MO while returning from a trip to Tennessee to settle the estate of Sarah Hurst Harper's father Thomas Hurst. When they went to dock in Cape Girardeau, the sons Richard and one of the other sons, testified that he "fell or was pushed overboard". He drowned in the Mississippi River. We don't know where his grave is as the accounts never said. I'm not sure they would have taken him back to Princeton as that would have been too long a journey with a body. He is probably buried somewhere in Cape Girardeau County, MO.
