"United States War of 1812 Index to Pension Application Files, 1812-1910", , FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X8CG-RQZ : Wed Dec 13 20:18:26 UTC 2023), Entry for John Harper and Sarah Hurst. ===== He drowned in the Mississippi River on his return trip from Claiborne County, Tennessee to Missouri after settling the estate of his father-in-law Thomas Hurst.
