He worked several ranches, one in South Dakota in the late 60's, The Panama Ranch at Panama, NM, Scharbauer Sheep Ranch in Penasco, NM, Scharbauer Ranch in Midland, TX, and finally T-Bone Ranch in Valera, TX. He would later return to T-Bone Ranch where he worked until months before his passing. Colin was a craftsman who enjoyed woodworking, often making pieces such as coffee tables, side tables, wooden lamps, and crosses. He enjoyed leather work. Painted several skulls, and transformed antlers into unique crafts, functional items, practical tools and jewelry. He also enjoyed making silver and turquoise jewelry. His most prize possession is the Registered New Mexico brand of the lazy H. He often used this and other symbols to brand his woodwork and other items. He was also very proud of the replica rocking chair he made of his great grandfathers.
