Fort Bend Herald, Tuesday, November 18, 2025: Anna Marie Buzek, 70, of Katy, Texas, passed away suddenly at home on October 30, 2025. She was born on February 13, 1955 in Richmond, Texas to parents, Johnnie and Mary Ann Buzek. Anna grew up in Rosenberg, Texas and attended Holy Rosary Catholic School through the 8th grade. During high school at Lamar Consolidated, she worked at Schaefer Pharmacy in Rosenberg. Her work there inspired her to become a pharmacist. After high school she attended the University of Houston, College of Pharmacy, from which she graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and went on to become a licensed Pharmacist. She began her career returning to Schaefer Pharmacy alongside her mentors, Mr. Henry Wertheimer and Mr. Johnny Scott. She continued her career at Frostwood Pharmacy, Kroger Pharmacy, and Pharmor Pharmacy, followed by a return to Kroger where she worked for 21 years, retiring in 2011. After retirement, Anna took a few years to do some traveling and made it a point to spend time with family. To keep her pharmacist license current, she decided to return to work a few days a week at Katy Pharmacy where she was employed at the time of her death. Anna traveled throughout her life. She enjoyed going to casinos and Disney World with her nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was quite the Disney fan, collecting numerous pieces of memorabilia over the years. She was especially fond of Mickey Mouse; he could be found featured throughout her house during any season. Anna enjoyed playing cards (just try to beat her at Cribbage), dominos (42 was her favorite), board games, and doing puzzles with family and friends. She also enjoyed family fishing trips and spending holidays with family. Anna was deeply dedicated to her immediate and extended family. She enjoyed visiting and having fun with her brothers' families, and later her nieces and nephews and their families as well. She kept up with her nieces and nephews as they grew up, always remembering their birthdays and giving them special gifts, and making time for big moments throughout their lives. Anna also stayed connected with her aunts and uncles and had close friendships with several of her cousins. They were dear to her heart. Anna had a special place in her heart for her father. She cared dearly for him as he aged, spending much of her free time making sure he was well cared for. Anna will be dearly missed by her immediate and extended family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving and caring daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, cousin, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Mary Ann (Maresh) Buzek. She is survived by her siblings, Johnnie Buzek Jr. (Susan), Tom Buzek, Allan Buzek, and Francis "Goose" Buzek (Geradette); nieces and nephews, Olivia Buzek (Michael Paul), Laura Buzek Underwood (Kenneth Underwood), Cecelia Buzek, Everett Buzek, Allan Buzek Jr. (Heather), Josh Buzek (Symetria), Adam Buzek, Bradley Buzek (Nicole), Bryan Buzek (Jenna), and Brent Buzek (Keli); great-nieces and nephews, Eleanor Underwood, Isaac Underwood, Isabelle Bolinder, Tyson Bolinder, Kai Buzek, John Buzek, Scarlet Buzek, Myka Buzek, Hattie Buzek, Bryce Buzek, Boyd Buzek, and Blair Buzek. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with a rosary service at 1:30 p.m. A memorial will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Davis Greenlawn in Rosenberg.
