Athens, AL - William B. Evans, 74, Athens, died Thursday at the Athens-Limestone Hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Gary Kelsey and Burl Grubb officiating. Burial was to be in the Athens Memory Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Antate Evans; two sons, Redus Evans of Elkmont, AL, and Randy Evans of Prospect, TN; five daughters, Helen Taylor of Grafton, VA, Beth Worthey of Capshaw, Genell Bailey, Virginia Day and Dianne Conley, all of Athens; two brothers, Ben Evans of Rogersville and James Evans of Athens; four sisters, Estelle Newton and Josephine McCafferty, both of Rogersville, Annie Patterson and Louvenia Griffin, both of Athens; nine stepchildren, 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and 14 step-great-grandchildren.
