Bio
Cecilia Elizabeth Salik passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. Cecilia was born in Ennis, Texas on March 5, 1935 to Bessie Svehlak Honza and Charles Honza. She grew up in Ennis and on May 16, 1953 she married her sweetheart, Jerry Salik. They made their home together in Ennis for over seventy years. Cecilia was a devoted Roman Catholic and was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Cecilia was hired by Morris Hayes to work for Davis and Collins Drug Co. on September 16,1963. Later it became Star Pharmacy. In 1970 Cecilia started working at Hesser Drug, where she worked until that tragic day in 1996 when Hesser's was destroyed by fire. Cecilia then transferred to Drug Town. The name changed to Horizon Pharmacy and then to Medicine Chest. Cecilia retired in 2005 after 42 years of faithful service. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 10 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever.
