Camper, Vernon "Dugan" Services for Vernon Mason "Dugan" Camper, 85, Van, are scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Hillard Funeral Home with George Baker and Mark Christie officatiang. Burial will be in Sand Flat Cemetery in Van Zandt County. Mrs. Camper died May 31 in a Tyler hospital after a short illness. He was born August 16, 1913, in Grand Saline. He served as mayor of Van for a number of years, was a retired construction contractor and a member of Ben Wheeler Church of Christ and had resided in Van since 1956. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Grace Camper in 1998. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Nancy Camper of Van; two daughters and son-in-law, Dianna Tillison of Van, and Lisa and George Skinner of Dallas; brother, Buddy Camper of Lindale; five grandchildren, Cheri Hays, Tammi Isham, Terri Tillison, Kirk Camper and Andrew Skinner; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bill Crim, Mike Richards, Steve Sukovich, Jack Perry, George Donaldson, Frank Boyd and Frank Tucker. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Northeast Texas Chapter, 3613 S. Braodway Ave., Tyler, 75701.
