Joann Marie Jindresek, 93, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Senior Star at Elmore Place in Davenport, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 7, 2025, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church Parish Nurse Program. Joann was born October 3, 1931, in Scotia, Nebraska, the daughter of Benjamin & Hulda (Smith) Sautter. She was united in marriage to Walter A. "Walt" Jindresek on September 26, 1953, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Bettendorf, where they were long-time members. Walt preceded her in death on January 3, 2020. Joann had been employed with Western Union in Davenport and many other locations throughout Iowa. She has also driven school buses in Bettendorf and Davenport for twenty years. Joann was proud of her seven grandchildren. They are Mike George, Victoria Edwards, Dr James Heeren, Melanie Gomez, Bryce Haertjens, Lauren Haertjens and Lindsey Haertjens. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren. Joann had loved to travel and garden. She was also proud of her four children, Wally Jindresek of Davenport, Ronda (Bill) George of Davenport, Debra (Paul) Heeren of Guilford, Connecticut and Nancy (Jim) Haertjens of Davenport. In addition to her husband, Walt, Joann was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Viola, Marvin, Stella, Lawrence, La Vern, Dale and Alberta.
