Dorothy Jean Vyvjala Hajek, 79, of La Grange, TX, passed away peacefully in her sleep in Austin, TX on September 12, 2025. Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations of La Grange on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Family will be present to receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Dorothy was born on July 28, 1946 in La Grange, Texas. She was the daughter of Albert Julius Vyvjala and Minnie Elizabeth (Karstedt) Vyvjala Bell. Dorothy is a member of the First Baptist Church of La Grange, TX. She retired after 38 years in the commercial insurance field at the Nitsche Group and prior to that, three years at the Providence Washington Insurance Co. in Austin, TX. She is survived by two sons, Billy James Hajek and wife, Dianna, of La Grange, TX, and Robby Wayne Hajek and wife, Leanna, of Cedar Park TX; brothers, Gene Bell and wife, Cheryl, of Vidor, TX, James Bell and wife, Angie, of Kountze, TX, Charles Bell and wife, Faye, of Washington, TX; nephew, Charles Bell, Jr. of Warner Robbins, GA; nieces, Tiffany Cianci of Sacramento, CA, Amanda Cobb of Kathleen, GA, Marissa Woodall of Vidor, TX, and Bridget Bell of Orange, TX; eight great-nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Loyd Gilbert of La Grange, TX; cousin, Carol Ahlschlager of La Grange, TX; and her god-daughter, Nora Kollaja Winter of Round Top, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Minnie; her brother, Donald Bell; her sister, Carolyn Gilbert; and her beloved cat, Charlie. In her retirement years she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and watching The Voice with her cat, Belle, in her lap. In lieu of flowers please send memorial donations to the Gardenia E.
