Carolyn Ruth (Vyvjala) Gilbert, 70, of La Grange, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. Carolyn was born in La Grange, Texas on July 6, 1949, the daughter of Albert Julius Vyvjala and Minnie Elizabeth (Karstedt) Vyvjala Bell. Carolyn married Loyd E. Gilbert on January 8, 1966. She is survived by her husband, Loyd E. Gilbert, of 53 years; sister, Dorothy Hajek of La Grange; three brothers, Gene Bell and wife, Cheryl, James Bell and wife, Angie, of Vidor, Texas, Charles Bell and wife, Faye, of Washington; two nephews, Billy James and wife, Dianna, Robby Hajek and wife, Leanna; four nieces, Marissa (Bell) Woodall and husband, Carl, Amanda (Bell) Cobb and husband, Patrick, Tiffany and Bridget Bell; one great-nephew, Walter Cobb. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Donald Bell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter, 240 Svoboda Ln, La Grange, TX 78945.
