Anne was born on May 6, 1952, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Rudolph Roy Pokorny and Rosalia Loran Pokorny. When Anne was a child, her father's career took her family to Vidalia, Georgia; Watertown, South Dakota; and Chickasha, Oklahoma. She attended the all-girls Academy of Mary Immaculate in Wichita Falls and graduated from Watertown High School in Watertown, South Dakota. Anne's career in banking began at First Federal Savings and Loan in Wichita Falls. She later moved to the First National Bank of Burkburnett, subsequently renamed First Bank, where she worked for over 30 years. Anne had many hobbies and especially valued spending time with family. She was a music lover throughout her life. As a young woman, Anne curated a diverse vinyl collection of the best rock, folk, and experimental artists of the 60s and 70s. She was a talented quilter and crocheter who had a discerning eye for pattern and color. She was an avid reader, from the works of Joseph Campbell and Carl Jung to the latest romantasy novels. She loved being outdoors, constantly tending her flowerbeds at home, and she enjoyed floating at the beach on Lake Texoma with her sisters, niece, and nephews, watching her dad – "Speed Racer" – zip his scooter around the campground. Her holiday pumpkin and pecan pies were known for their incredibly flaky and buttery crust. She cherished going to the IMAX and to dinner and testing various recipes to make the perfect slime with her beloved grandson Andrew. Anne is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Rose Pokorny; sisters Carolyn Phelps and Suzette Eperjesi Sanner; and brother-in-law David Eperjesi. Anne is survived by her son Les Paul Hopkins, his wife Shannon; grandsons Bryan and Andrew; sister Roylene Quintero and her fiancée Roy Brock; brothers-in-law Pat Phelps and Garry Sanner; and niece and nephews Roy Eperjesi and spouse Raymie, Joe Eperjesi and partner Alyssa, Hunter Quintero and wife Hannah, and Loren Quintero Bass and husband Jonathan. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Bass, Roy Brock, Joe Eperjesi, Roy Eperjesi, Pat Phelps, Hunter Quintero, and Richard Young. Anne believed strongly that everyone, especially children, should have enough to eat. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne's honor to the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank, 1230 Midwestern Parkway, Wichita Falls, TX 76302, https://www.wfafb.org/
