Bio
Linda Marie (Trouba) Gropp, 77, of Lincoln entered eternal life on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Born to Rudy Jr., and Vernetta (Moyer) Trouba in Lincoln on April 17, 1948. She was raised in Lincoln and attended St. Mary's Catholic School, Whittier Jr. High, and graduated from Lincoln High School. On January 27, 1968, she married Donald J Gropp I and together they had four children. Linda stayed at home raising her children while holding many part-time jobs over the years. In the early 70s, she was a bartender at George's Lounge. Later on she was self-contracted with the Lincoln Journal Star, worked at U-Stop, employed at the Nebraska State Fair where she assisted with the horse races, worked many events at Pershing Auditorium, and served in Nutrition Services at Lincoln Public Schools. She was a long time member of the South Salt Creek Board and volunteered for the FoodNet of Lincoln. Through her work, volunteering, and social life, she made many friends and touched many lives. Linda is survived by her children: Donna J. Gropp Irons, Donald "Pete" (Wendy) J. Gropp II, Darin (Jessica) J. Gropp, and Duane (Tina) J. Gropp, twelve grandchildren, and one great grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Rebecca (Rick) Brazau, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, aunts, several cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Larry and Ronald Trouba Sr., and former husband, Donald J. Gropp I. Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, August 14, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church,Denton with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Sunny Side Cemetery, Denton.
