Bio
Kathy Athey Baldwin, age 55 of Garland, TX, went home to be with her Savior Thursday afternoon, May 8, 2008. Kathy left this world in order to worship in Paradise. She was born February 5, 1953, in Greenville, TX, to Richard Harold Athey and Marjorie Agnes (Groom) Athey. She attended classes at both Eastfield College and Texas A&M Commerce, ultimately receiving a Masters degree in music and a BS degree in business. Kathy enjoyed her career as a teacher and later as an HR Director, and was a member of Church in the City in Rowlett, TX. Kathy is survived by her loving husband: Glen Baldwin of Garland, TX; daughter: Michele Kemp & husband Kelly of Garland, TX; son: Sean Baldwin of Garland, TX; mother: Marjorie Athey of Greenville, TX; brothers: Chris Athey & wife Paula of Huntsville, TX, and Keith Athey & wife Debbie of Austin, TX; and sister: Kim Bishop & husband Jeff of Commerce, TX. She was preceded in death by her father: Richard Athey. Funeral services under the direction of Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Church in the City, 6005 Dalrock Road, Rowlett, TX, 75088, with Pastor Eddie Woods officiating. Entombment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Rockwall, TX. The family will receive friends Saturday at Church in the City from 10:00am to 12:00 noon.
