Walter Nelson January 17, 1935 - July 4, 2025 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Richard "Screwball" Nelson, age 90, of Robertsdale, Alabama, on July 4, 2025. He was born on January 17, 1935 to the late Monroe and Angie Belle Nelson. A graduate of Robertsdale High School, Walter spent his working years as a commercial shrimper, having employed many young men on the infamous Sea Biscuit. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Gladys Nelson and brother, Francis Nelson. A graveside service will be held at Old Cooper Cemetery, Robertsdale, AL on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. Obituary published to the website of Mack Funeral Home 08 July 2025. Names of the living removed to comply with Find A Grave regulations.
