Unmarked. In August 2025, I looked throughout Rose Hill Cemetery for a memorial for him, but none was found. - Steven Hardy (FAG #46920089)
Articles in the local newspapers before his death indicate that he had been working somewhere away on the railroad, and that upon returning home he contracted typhoid fever. He was ill for a few months before he passed. According to the Trenton Torpedo , he was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery. The month after he died, his daughter Carrie was ill from the same disease. His widow, Sarah, gave birth to a boy two months later, on Jan. 31, 1888. The baby died on Dec. 22. She remained in the area until about 1890 or 1891, based on references to her or her daughters (Carrie and Lulu) in the Hitchcock County newspapers. The Weatherlys were homesteading, and the homestead records are available, but filed under the name Sarah C. WENTHERLY, with a final certificate (1227) filed on March 10, 1890. These records indicate they moved to the land in February 1885.
