BETHANY Jack E. White, 89, passed away on June 14, 2025 in Bethany, Oklahoma. He was born on March 30, 1936 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Clifford L. White and Sue Patterson White. Jack grew up in Chandler, Oklahoma and had a jazz band called the "Dukes' where he played the trumpet. During this time, he was able to meet one of his heroes, Louis Armstrong. Jack played football and ran track before attending the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated with a degree in Geo Physics while playing trumpet for "The Pride of Oklahoma." While at OU, he was Treasurer of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. After graduation, Jack took a position with Humble Oil in the Petroleum Industry in Texas and later moved back to Oklahoma taking a position in the Trust Department of Liberty National Bank in Oklahoma City, specializing in oil and gas holdings. He built a remarkable career as an Executive Vice President of the bank, board member of many institutions, Director of Finance for the State of Oklahoma and served the U.S. Department of the Interior under the Clinton Administration. A man with many interests and boundless energy, Jack embraced life with enthusiasm. He had a deep appreciation for technology and eagerly waited for each iPhone release. He also played the piano, sang in the church choir, played tennis and golf. He spent many years sailing, even building a 21 foot sailboat from a kit. He enjoyed motorcycles, bicycles, kayaking, playing pickle ball, running, each were among his fondest memories, especially running with the early morning Downtown YMCA group. Jack is survived by his wife, Camilla Means, his children, Stephen White (Riz), Elizabeth Miraldi (David), and Courtney Sherman (Tim), his sister Jane Carlson, and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Martha Sue Keegan, and brother Carl A. White. The celebration of Jack's life will be held at a later date. In honor of Jack's memory, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
