Bio
David Bohaboj of Columbus died Thurs, June 5, 2025 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. June 26, 2025 at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Visitation is 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will be the Schuyler Cemetery. David Bohumil Bohaboj was born September 25, 1956 in West Point, Nebraska to Bohumil and Wilma (Cech) Bohaboj. David grew up helping on the farm in rural Dodge County. David loved all animals and raised many generations of cats and dogs. David also loved flowers just like his father did. David married the love of his life Shirley Wachal on November 30, 1985 in Columbus, Nebraska. David loved visiting nursing homes and loved spending time with his old time friends. David also played Santa Claus for family and nursing homes. David loved dressing up as Santa Claus because it involved people and children. David belonged to Saint Isidore's Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus. David was a devout Catholic and loved the Lord with all his heart and helped people without asking anything in return. All he wanted was a smile and a hug because David knew he was doing the Lord's work. He enjoyed listening to polka music and remembering the good old days. David enjoyed cooking with the love of his life. David and Shirley did everything together and he cherished the times they spent together. David is survived by his siblings: Agnes Bohaboj, Joann Flores and Janet (Brian) Kaup, He is preceded in death by: Wife: Shirley Bohaboj, Parents: Bohumil and Wilma Bohaboj and sister: Barbara Stark.
