Shirley Bohaboj age 71, of Columbus died Thursday, April 10, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Visitation is 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until service time at the church. Shirley Ann Bohaboj was born November 11, 1953 in Schuyler, Nebraska to John and Martha (Rezac) Wachal. She grew up on the farm near Schuyler and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1972. She then graduated from Central Community College-Platte Campus in 1974. Shirley married David Bohaboj on November 30, 1985. She worked at Arrow Inn as a waitress, Dales Electronics, Deano's Diner, Data Center, Columbus Sales Pavilion, Arby's and Walmart until her retirement in 2020. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, going to casinos and bus trips, Shirley is survived by her husband: David, siblings: Mary Lou (Jerome) Benesch, John (Ruth Ann) Wachal, Diane Sasser and Linda (Lawrence) Klink. She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Martha Wachal and parent in-laws: Bohumil and Wilma Bohaboj.
