The Banner-Press (David City, Nebr.), October 16, 1986, p. 12B, col. 2 Services conducted in California for Mrs. Clara Korinek Funeral services for Clara B. Korinek of Salinas, Calif., were conducted Monday morning, Sept. 29, from the Struve and Laporte Funeral Chapel in Salinas, with Father Rohas officiating. Mrs. Korinek, 74, died at the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Pallbearers were John Von Brincken, Dennis Browne, Gene Johnson, Steve Cockran, Larry Struve and Jim Laporte. Burial was in the Pajaso Valley Memorial Park in Watsonville. Clara B. Korinek, the daughter of Joseph Frank and Louisa Lyba Homolka, was born May 30, 1912, at Ulysses. She attended school at Ulysses. On Feb. 4, 1930, she was married to Joseph C. Korinek at Immaculate Conception Church in Ulysses. One son was born to this union. They lived in Ulysses until 1941 when they moved to Weiser, Idaho. They moved back to Ulysses in 1947. In 1953 they moved to Oakland, Calif., and in 1917 they moved to Salinas where she and her husband of 56 years lived until her death. She is survived by her husband, Joe C. Korinek; a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald Lee and Mary Korinek of Salinas, Calif.; two brothers, Emil Homolka of David City and Leo Homolka of Lincoln; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Korinek and Mrs. Agnes Bratetic of Ulysses; four granddaughters, Teri Von Brincken of Reno, Nev., Jeri Maria Kelly of Savannah, Ga., Joni Willis and Linda Cochran of Salinas; three great grandsons, Phillip and Frank Kelly III of Savannah, Ga., and Matthew Cochran of Salinas, Calif., and four nieces, Cheryl Ondrak of Denver, Colo., Sharon Aldrich of Seward, Elaine Jones of Lincoln and Diane Rerucha of Surprise; and one nephew, Vernon Homolka of Texas. Her parents, two brothers, Frank and Louis Homolka, and one sister, Lillian Homolka Woodworth, preceded her in death.
