Bio

10 June 2010 According to the Smith Co enumeration done in 1979, updated 1983, the dates on Little Lee Rather's tomb are 5 Nov 1883 – 30 Oct 1885 with the notation, "infant of H. M. & M. J. Rather". I couldn't help but notice that Little Lee's mother Mary died 20 Dec 1885. Based on the location of the graves it also appears that H. M. and Mary [or "Mollie"] lost three other children: Hewitt d. 1876, about 6 months old, Neta d.1874, abt. 1 yr old and Henry, d. 1874, abt 3 yrs old. All of these are inside the wrought iron enclosure with "H. M. Rather" on the gate. Rex Kirby
