Added by Rex Kirby 5 June 2010: According to the Smith Co enumeration done in 1979, updated 1983, the dates on Mary's tomb are 1 Oct 1848 – 20 Dec 1885 with the notations, "wife of H. M. Rather" and "aged 37 yrs 2 mos 19 days". I was at Rather Cemetery yesterday but I didn't check these dates. I will be going back in a few days and will try to confirm the dates. I'll let you know what I find assuming the tomb is still legible. But for now, thought you might want to know the dates and other info that was found in 1983.
