Bio

Pauline Hanak, 85, of West, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008, in Waco. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. A rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Pauline was born in Mart, Texas, to the late Henry and Minnie (Sonntag) Freyer. She was a graduate of Mart High School. On October 26, 1947, she was united in marriage to Otto J. Hanak, Jr. in Abbott. Pauline was a professional seamstress for Lorch Manufacturing Co. and Wolf's Manufacturing, both in West, for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. Pauline loved getting together and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, Catholic Daughter's of America Court No. 829 and K.J.Z.T. St. Ludmila Society No. 11. She was preceded in death by her husband on September 1, 2005; a daughter, Lana Pavlicek; and a son-in-law, Charlie Kolar, and her parents. Survivors include son, Otto H. Hanak and Vicki Jaster, of Brenham; daughters, Linda Kolar, of West and Bettie Samford and husband, Olan, of Hewitt; sister, Helen Outlaw and husband, Tek, of Clifton; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
