Masek, 82, of Ceresco, NE, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at Tabitha Journey House in Lincoln, NE. He was born August 5, 1942 in Wahoo, NE to William and Mary (Houska) Masek. Larry graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1959. On October 23, 1965, Larry was united in marriage to Shirley Pallas at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Linwood, NE. Larry was a lifelong farmer and through the years, he also worked for Wahoo Built, the Wahoo Sale Barn, the Beatrice Sale Barn and the UTES #2 National Guard as a mechanic. He served in the Army National Guard for over 20 years. Larry was also a member of the American Legion Post #308. He loved to play pitch and BINGO with his kids and grandkids. Larry enjoyed going to cattle auctions, raising cattle and mowing. He coached softball when his kids were young. Girls basketball held a special place in Larry's heart. He enjoyed watching his daughter Amy play through her college years and more recently he enjoyed watching his granddaughters in all their sports. He also loved to watch the Nebraska Huskers. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Masek; children, David (Brenda) Masek of Purdum, NE, Dale (Denise) Masek of Lincoln, NE, Mark (Ravae) Masek of Davey, NE and Amy (Mike) Lockman of Davey, NE; grandchildren, Tanner (Sarah) Phelps, Jenna Masek, Taylor Lockman, Savannah Masek, Vailey Masek, Mason (Jessica) Hawkins and Kalynn Hawkins; great-grandchildren, Alex, Andrew and Adeline Phelps, and Darcy Hawkins; sisters, Gladys Cajka of Wahoo, NE and Georgianette Downen of Phoenix, AZ; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Masek; sisters, Grace Carrier and Genevieve Muench; brother, Leonard Masek; and sister-in-law, Sandy Wolfe.
