Daryl Horrocks December 8, 1971 — May 3, 2025 Daryl James Horrocks, age 53, of Aquilla, passed away Saturday morning, May 3, 2025 at his residence. Graveside Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2025 at Scott's Chapel near Aquilla, with Deacon Ronnie Sykora officiating. Daryl will lie-in-state 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Daryl was born December 8, 1971, in Dallas to the late Jimmy Horrocks and Elizabeth Hanzelka. A proud graduate of Little Elm High School in 1990, Daryl went on to earn a bachelor's degree in business administration and marketing from the University of Texas at Arlington. He was known for his entrepreneurial spirit, owning and operating Daryl Horrocks Fencing. Daryl also contributed his talents to Butler Telecom, where he specialized in wireless communications, and worked with Roadway Freight Company throughout the bustling Dallas, Fort Worth, and Irving areas. Daryl was a vibrant soul with an infectious zest for life. He found joy in the simple pleasures, whether it was taking his faithful dog, Gus, for long walks, cheering on his nephews at football games, or delighting in breathtaking sunsets. His love for sports, particularly the Dallas Cowboys, was evident; he approached every game with the enthusiasm of a true fan. Daryl also cherished moments spent at the casino, enjoying the thrill of the game. Survivors include his siblings, Doyle Horrocks of Aquilla and Kimberly Long and husband Ken of Burleson; his step father, Ronald "Judge" Winfrey of Aquilla; his nephews, Kenny and Jack Long; and many other relatives and friends.
