Bio
Mary Martha Gardner Birmingham passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Methodist Hospital in Sugar Land, Texas. Mary was born March 3, 1947, in Houston, Texas to Helen Scott Hall and Clifton Ray Gardner. She grew up in Texas, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey before moving back to her beloved Texas. She married Ardyce Lyle Birmingham, her true love and soul mate, in April of 1966. They shared many adventures and a love of animals. Mary was a wonderful friend to a very devoted group of friends, many of whom followed her to Kerrville, Texas where she moved after Ardyce's passing. She was the Queen of their group, and the Queen of our hearts. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ardyce, her sister and brother-in-law, Meghan and Bob West, and many beloved pets, including Ajax, Robert, and Kelley. She leaves behind her sister and brother-in-law Lucretia and JO Thompson, her niece Heather West, stepdaughter Tracy Covington, granddaughters Ashley, Shelby, and Chelsy, many nieces and nephews, lifelong friend Kathleen Swallick-Boss, beloved best friend Carol McSpadden and many that loved her to the moon and back. Graveside services will be held on May 21, 2022, at 11 am at Jenkins Springs Cemetery in Early, Texas with a celebration of life to follow.
