Highland Vidette (Highland, Kansas) ~12 Jan 1911 · Page 1 Ab Kent died Tuesday evening at his home south of Troy at the age of 75. About two weeks ago he was kicked by a mule and his arm broken. However, it was evident that he was also injured internally because he grew gradually weaker until death came. Mr. Kent was one of the very old settlers in Doniphan county, coming here in about 1855. He has been a successful and extensive farmer and stock raiser and leaves considerable property. His wife died seven years ago and since then his two youngest unmarried daughters have kept house for him. He was a very active man and took great interest in whatever pertained to the general welfare of his county and community. He leaves seven children, four girls and three boys. Foster, the oldest son, ran a lumber yard in Highland for a time. Ed and Perrin run a farm near Sparks and a store in that town.
