SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Morris Henry Moses, 82, will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2004 in Centuries Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Ray Raney of First Baptist Church in Bossier and Dr. James Hill of First Baptist Church in Blanchard. Burial will military rites will be conducted by the 12th District, Dept. of LA, Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Morris passed away Friday evening July 30th in Willis Knighton Medical Center. He was born in DeRidder, Louisiana on October 11, 1921. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as an aircraft mechanic in North Africa. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in November 1945. He retired from W. L. Somner Company, Inc. in 1986 after 31 years of service. Morris was a true gentleman devoted to his family and had a passion for the outdoors. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him. Morris was preceded in death by his loving wife Esther; parents, Henry and Ella Moses and sisters, Marie and Eloise. He is survive by his sons, Larry Moses, Melvin Moses and wife, Helen; daughter, Debbie Hynes and husband, Hunter; granddaughters, Kim Williams, Angela Vesek and Heather Garza; grandsons, Joey and Garrett Hynes; five great-grandchildren and sisters, Eva Lois Hart of DeRidder, Louisiana and Yvonne Wright of Longview, Texas. Pallbearers will be Larry Moses, Joey Hynes, Recep Vesek, Josh Brian, Mark Williams and Chuck Conly. The family would like to extend their special thanks to Doctors Kirit Patel, Jeff White, Basel Kasabili, Anil Chhabra, nurses at Willis Knighton Medical Center, and his caregiver, Joyce Hodgson.
