Mrs. Pittman passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 in Lawton. Patricia was born at her Aunt Ann's house in Lawton, on February 23, 1934. Patricia's father worked for the railroads, so they traveled a lot and lived in Chicago, Miami and Texarkana growing up. She graduated from St. Mary's in Lawton in 1952. She attended Cameron State Ag College and was a member of the Aggies Pep Pirates. Pat graduated from University of Oklahoma, during the undefeated Bud Wilkerson years. She always bragged that she was the reason that the football team was undefeated. Hired into Lawton Public Schools in 1957 as an elementary teacher. She taught at many schools some of which include Lincoln, Will Rogers, Washington, Sullivan Village, Jackson, Park Lane, Western Hills. She became a Title 1 LRC teacher and taught countless students how to read. In 1959 she married Alfred W. Pittman at Blessed Sacrament church and lived most of their married lives on the farm, in the house that they built east of Lawton, in the Pumpkin Center area. They were active members of the Wichita Good Sams, several bowling leagues in Lawton and Duncan. Mom was adventurous and was seriously injured in a balloon crash in April 2019, but it only slowed her down for a little while. So for her entire time at 10 Oaks Morada home she was the only person known to have been in a balloon wreck. Alfred and Pat were married for 55 years until his death on August 2, 2014. Pat was an accomplished oil painter and her paintings were highly sought, she taught oil painting for decades at the Center for Creative Living. She was a long-time member of Blessed Sacrament in Lawton, and Immaculate Conception church in Marlow. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred W. Pittman; and her sisters, Anita Kelly and Juanita Hoelscher.
