A Mass of Christian Burial for Anthony "Tony" Lynn Hoelscher Jr., 75, of Westphalia will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Church of the Visitation in Westphalia with the Rev. Darrell Kostiha officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Westphalia. Mr. Hoelscher died Sunday, March 9, 2025, at a Temple hospital. He was born Dec. 19, 1949, to Anton and Helen Gausemeier Hoelscher in Marlin. He was a firefighter with the Austin Fire Department for more than 27 years, a Falls County Deputy Sheriff, Falls County Commissioner for Precinct 3 for 20 years and Fire Chief for the Marlin Fire Department. He also ran a fencing and patio company while managing his farm and ranch. He married Lillian Michalewicz on Aug. 17, 1968, in Lott. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dwayne "Scott" Hoelscher, Anthony Hoelscher and Quintin Hoelscher, all of Westphalia; and five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Westphalia Volunteer Fire Department, 290 FM 431, Lott, TX 76656. Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today, March 12, 2025, at the Church of the Visitation, with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Temple Daily Telegram. Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
