The son of William Henry and Nancy Elizabeth (Foust) LaTurner. KANSAN DIES AFTER HUNTING EXPEDITION. Rupert LaTurner, of Near Galena, Succumbs In Ambulance From, Apoplexy. Galena, Kan., Jan. 1. — Rupert LaTurner , about 50 years old, died suddenly this afternoon at his home a mile and a half northeast of the Union Chapel school, north of Galena. Death was pronounced due to apoplexy by Dr. C. H. Jones, Coroner, who examined the body. Relatives said LaTurner had been out hunting this morning and complained of a severe pain in his head when he returned. About 3 o'clock this afternoon an ambulance of the Allison funeral home was summoned to remove LaTurner to the Columbus hospital, but when the ambulance arrived at the house relatives told Haven Lewman, ambulance driver, they believed LaTurner already was dead. LaTurner was placed in the ambulance and brought, to the office of Dr. Jones here, where he was pronounced dead. LaTurner had lived in this vicinity 40 years, coming here from Indiana. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Cora LaTurner; four sons and two daughters, all living in the Galena vicinity. Joplin Globe, Sunday, January 2, 1938. Pg. 2A. 2 of 49. ~*~ MAN RETURNS HOME FROM HUNTING: DIES Galena, Kan., Jan. 3. — Rupert LaTurner , 55 years old, died suddenly Saturday afternoon at his home a mile and a half northeast of the Union Chapel school, north of Galena. Death was due to apoplexy, according to Coroner C. H. Jones. Relatives said Mr. LaTurner had been out hunting Saturday morning and complained of a severe pain in his head when he returned. An ambulance was summoned to take him to the Columbus hospital about 3 o'clock in the afternoon, but he died before it arrived. Mr. LaTurner had lived in this vicinity 40 years, coming here from Indiana. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Cora LaTurner; two daughters, Mrs. Faye Shoemaker of Galena Heights and Miss Louise LaTurner, at home; four sons, Carl, Alfred and William LaTurner, all of Galena Heights, and Paul LaTurner, at home, and several brothers and sisters. Galena, Kan., Jan. 3. — Funeral services for Rupert LaTurner , 55 years old, who died Saturday aft- ernoon at his home northeast of Galena, will be held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Little Mission church in Galena Heights, with the Rev.
