Cora Smith, 75, of Chandler, passed away in Dallas on February 23, 2025. Cora Lee (McCoy) Smith was born on September 5, 1949, in Collin County, Texas, to Edmond McCoy and Cora Bess (Smith) McCoy. She earned her GED in Dallas County. Cora had a passion for crochet and enjoyed reading books, particularly in the mystery and drama genres. She was a devoted Baptist and exemplified the strength of a tough Texas woman. Her love for her sons was immense, and she was married to her loving husband, Robert, for 40 years. Everyone who knew her will miss her dearly. Cora was a loving mother, wife, sister, nanny, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Gonzalas; her sons, John Ed White, Charles D. Smith, David P. Smith, and Jimmy D. Smith; her sister, Mary Jenkins; her brother, Robert McCoy; her ex-husbands, Charles R. Smith and John White; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
