KONVICKA, Alphonse- 93 of King William, VA passed away on January 29, 2025. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Joy Konvicka; his parents, Laddie and Mary Konvicka Sr.; his brothers, Laddie Konvicka Jr., and Frank Konvicka; and his sisters, Lillian, Emily, Sister Barbara, He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Betty Mildred Brown Konvicka; four children, Laddie Konvicka (Sarah), Mike Konvicka (Teresa), Jill Balleh (Brian), and Valerie Miller (Steve Ogletree); stepdaughter, Rebecca Lam (Matt); 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Georgia Haas, Angie Wagner, and Louise Walgiura; a special nephew, Bubba Haas; and many other family and friends. Al proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps. He was a co-owner of Preston Brothers Builders. He was born and raised in Texas and always went home for family reunions. Al loved living in the country, fishing, and visiting the casino in Charlestown West Virginia. He was a devoted family man and cherished the time he shared with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 11 am – 12 pm, on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, VA 23111, with a funeral service to be held promptly at noon. Interment with military honors will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
