Bio

Robert (Bob) Preston King, 75, of Eucha, OK went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 in Grove, OK. He was born on October 27, 1949 in Springer, New Mexico to his parents, Sherman and Dorothy King. Bob loved spending time with his family and spending time with Deacon (Handsome) is what they called each other. They did not go one day without talking on the phone or seeing each other. In his younger days, he and his brothers hauled hay, and he loved going coon hunting. Later in life he loved going to the casino with his wife, Kathy to enjoy some entertainment. Bob was a man of strong faith and was a member of the Cave Springs Fellowship of Grove, OK. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Dorothy King; both grandparents; his grandson, Skyler Palmer; 3 brothers, Leon King, Leonard King and Jim King; 2 sisters, Muriel Skaggs and Betty Bradford; 2 half-brothers, Virgil and Arley Johnson; nieces, Alberta and Joyce; nephew, Brayden; numerous cousins, extended family and friends. Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathy King of the home; his children, Crystal King of Grove, OK and Heath Palmer of Eucha, OK; Grandchildren, Aaron Palmer, Brittany Makres, Caleb Youngpuppy, Bethany King and husband Russell Vanderpool, Shyna Summerfield, Baylon Summerfield and DJ Summerfield; Great-Grandchildren, Deacon (Handsome) Vanderpool, Lenox Summerfield, Zeke Summerfield, Castiel King and Addealyn Taff; Siblings, Don, John, Ernest, Tom, Sam, Mary (Millie) and Jerry; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Bob's Celebration of Life Family Visitation to greet friends will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025 from 5:00-7:00pm at Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, OK 74346. Bob's Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, 2:00pm, February 11, 2025 at Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Chapel, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, OK 74346 with Pastor Aston York officiating. Followed by Bob's funeral procession to New Eucha Cemetery, Eucha, OK. Bob's burial will be at New Eucha Cemetery, Eucha, OK. Arrangements are entrusted to Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 311 W Gray St, Jay, OK 74346 with Shaunda J. Lawson, 3rd Generation Owner/Funeral Director and Staff.
