Michael Vernon Veselka, age 72, of Waco, passed away Thursday night, January 16, 2025 at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco. A Rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Michael was born May 16, 1952 in Waco, the son of Anton and Anna (Snider) Veselka. He attended Connally Schools and was a member of SPJST #6 Cottonwood. He worked for many years with Goodwill and Winn Dixie, where he was known for his kindness and dedication. Michael had a deep love for life, and his passions reflected that. He enjoyed riding his bike, listening to music, and spending time at flea markets and garage sales. Michael had a deep love for his Catholic faith. He was particularly fond of attending the area Church Parish picnics and dancing, where he would connect with friends and family. Michael also had a love for gardening, which brought him joy and peace, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He was known for his warm heart, joyful spirit, and unwavering commitment to his family and friends. Michael is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Anthony Veselka, Jr., and Matthew Veselka; and nephews, Nicholas Veselka and Dale Krolczyk.Survivors include his sister, Carolyn Krolczyk of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, Albert Veselka of Ft. Worth, and Cecil Veselka of Waco; aunts, Mathilda Nors and Frances Lednicky; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
