Bio
Lorena Fay Hooten, age 93, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 12, 2025, in a local hospital. Lorena was born November 8, 1931, in Childress County, Texas, to Earnest and Mary Middleton. She was a homemaker and a member of Cornerstone Assembly of God Church. Lorena had a huge, giving heart and loved to do for others. She is preceded in death by her husband, William D. Hooten; brothers, James Henry Middleton, Ray Middleton, Ralph Middleton; sisters, Edna Middleton, Velma Middleton; and her parents. Lorena is survived by three sons, David Hooten and wife Debbie of Marshall, Texas, Kenneth Hooten and wife Patti of Queen City, Texas, Ronnie Hooten and wife Lynette of Waskom, Texas; daughter, Toran Mathews of Jefferson, Texas; two sisters, Zelma Turner and husband Jerry of Longview, Texas, Belma Middleton of Dallas, Texas; twelve grandchildren, Danelle Gross (Brad), David Hooten (Sunnie), Donnie Hooten (Angela), William "Bill" Hooten, Kenneth Hooten II (Jennifer), Kimberly Raines (Paul), Nathaniel Hooten (DJeniele), Jeremy Hooten (Sarah), Russell Hartsell (Emily), Jeffery, John and Destiny Hartsell; numerous great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Graveside services will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 15, 2025, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service, at Salem Cemetery.
