Graveside services for Ralph Thurman Middleton, age 86, of Emory will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Dougherty Cemetery with full Military Honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition. Rev. Wayne Brashear will be officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Middleton passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab. Mr. Middleton was born on May 31, 1926 in Emory, TX, the son of Ernest Zelmer and Mary Emma (Crandford) Middleton. He married Melba Holland on July 27, 1968 in Rockwall, TX. She preceded him in death on February 10, 2003. Mr. Middleton worked for Rains County and was commissioner of PCT 3 for 12 years. Mr. Middleton served in the United States Army during WWII. He is survived by his children, Charles Middleton and wife Loretta of Cedar Hill, TX, Shirley Ann McCurdy of Forney, TX, Sharon Kay Tucker of Balch Springs, TX, Ginger Holland and husband Mike of Arlington, TX, Bill Stanish of Dallas, TX sisters, Edna Middleton of Dallas, TX, Fay Hooten of Atlanta, TX, Zelma Turner and husband Jerry of Colorado, Belma Middleton of Dallas, TX, Ruth Middleton of Emory, TX, Patsy Yates of Miller Grove, TX, grandchildren, Doug and Shawn Middleton, Tina Lowery, Ronnie McCurdy, Christi Gregory and Chase Tucker, great-grandchildren, Kaylyn Middleton, Bethany and Jonathan Sorey, and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ray Middleton, James Henry Middleton, sister, Velma Middleton.
