Bio

Eugene E. Haisler, age 91, of Burlington, Texas passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025 at a local care center. He was born on November 21, 1933 in Temple, Texas the son of L.B. and Bertha Frances (Vanecek) Haisler. A visitation for Eugene will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, 3110 Airport Rd, Temple, TX 76504. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Ocker Brethren Church, 17454 TX-53, Temple, TX 76501. Burial will follow at Ocker Brethren Cemetery. Eugene served his country in the United States Army, was a member and former president of SPJST Lodge #24 Cyclone Flag Hall, a member of Ocker Brethren Church, and Eugene built custom homes for many years as the owner of Haisler Construction Company. On October 2, 1982 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple, he married Dorothy Marie Kucera. He is survived by his wife Dorothy M. Haisler of Burlington, TX, his children, Myron Haisler and wife Olivia of Morgan's Point Resort, TX, Alan Haisler and wife Rose of Franklin, TX, Deborah Schiller and husband Reuben of Salado, TX, Dan Vitek and wife JoAnne of Angola, IN, Cathy Hartley and husband Rick of Amarillo, TX, Tom Vitek and wife Pam of Salado, TX, Mike Vitek and wife Dianne of Keller, and Leonard Vitek of Saginaw, TX, 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Melvin Haisler and wife Sandra of Belton and a sister Jeanette Vasek of Temple, 22 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
