Jerry Dewayne Isaacks Sr. was born on March 21, 1946 to Omer and Mary Isaacks in Temple, Texas. He was the third-born child of seven. Jerry loved God, his church, his country, and above all else—he loved his family. At the age of 17, Jerry enlisted in The United States Army where he was an Expert Rifleman, a Sharpshooter and a Tank Operator. While enlisted, Jerry met the love of his life, Shirley Green, in Kennedale, Texas, whom he later married on September 8, 1964 in Fort Worth, Texas. During their stay in Fort Worth, they were blessed with Robin, Jerry Jr. ("Bubba"), and Willie. After serving in the Army, he worked as a firefighter, embalmer, and was the owner/operator of several service stations in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1971, the family relocated to Pasadena, Texas where their family continued to grow by having Angela, Amy, and Rhonda. He remained a small business owner, and using his knowledge and expertise as a skilled mechanic, opened his own auto repair shop, B&D Auto, in Pasadena, Texas. Around this time, the family became active members of Gulfgate Pentecostal Church (now Christ Church Apostolic), where he would later become deacon, in addition to several other ministries including outreach, Sunday school directing; they were actively involved in the Christmas Banquet entertainment, where they had wonderful times! He held a special place in his heart for the Sunday school program and the bus ministry. True servants at heart, Jerry and Shirley (better known as "Papaw" and "Mamaw" to their grandchildren and great-grandchildren) loved endlessly and gave selflessly, taking in all newcomers. In 2012, After 47 years of marriage, Shirley passed away leaving a hole that no one could fill. In 2017, Jerry fell in love again, marrying a longtime friend, Buryl Geary, and his family grew even further, with their union bringing him four more children, as well as many more beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved as his own. The couple was blessed with seven years together. On December 23, 2024, Jerry received his heavenly promotion at his home in Bacliff, Texas. Jerry is preceded in passing by his beloved wife Shirley Isaacks; parents Omer and Mary Isaacks; son-in-law Bobby Weidenbach; grandson Gideon Isaacks; stepson Tim Geary; and five siblings. Jerry is survived by his wife Buryl Isaacks of Bacliff, Texas; daughter Robin Weidenbach of Bacliff, Texas; son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Kathy Isaacks of Fairbanks, Alaska; son Wilbur Isaacks of Wasilla, Alaska; daughter and son-in-law Angela and David Morin of Dickinson, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Amy and Steve Cyr of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Nich Collard of Sweeny, Texas; brother and sister-in-law Larry and Sharon Isaacks of Normangee, Texas, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 5pm-7pm at Christ Church Apostolic located at 12815 Fuqua St. in Houston, Texas. Jerry's funeral service will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 at 10:30 am, also at Christ Church Apostolic, to be immediately followed by his committal service with military honors at Forest Lawn Cemetery located at 8601 Almeda Genoa Road in Houston, Texas.
