Bio
Velma Gay Pritchett Hurley age 88 of Atascosa found peace on Thursday, October 5, 2023. She was born January 23, 1935, in Kaufman County, Texas to John Roy and Adrion (Griffey) Pritchett, Sr. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters and brothers, Almarita Carpenter, Sam Pritchett, John Pritchett, James Pritchett, John Roy Pritchett, Jr., Tom B. Pritchett, Frank Pritchett and Mary Shipley. Gay is survived by her children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Her family wishes to extend a special thanks to Cate and Harold at Alamo Hospice, Bandera Nursing and Rehab and Medina Valley Rehab for their care to our Mother. Gay was employed at Medina Valley School District and retired after 20 years. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. followed by the Service at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive. Interment will follow at 1:45 P.M. at Lytle Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Alamo Hospice.
