Bio

David L. Brown, 63 of Riverdale passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 9, 2024 at New Life Church in Kearney. Interment will be held at the Sumner Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. David was born July 28, 1961 in Kearney, NE to Ralph and Irma (Barta) Brown. He received his education from S.E.M. High School, graduating with the class of 1979. Growing up, David worked for the Woods Ranch. He later worked at the Dawson County Roads Department and Brandt Construction. In 1997, David was united in marriage to Cindy Pedersen in Overton, NE. David attended Hastings Community College where he earned his degree in Drafting. For the past 10 years he has worked as a draftsman for Green Steel Buildings. David was a member of New Life Church and a past member of the Sumner Saddle Club. He had a passion for Ranching, but most of all, he loved being a grandfather. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cindy Brown of Riverdale; daughter, Nissa (Chris) Shelby of Broken Bow, NE; son Bryce (Deshia) Brown of Litchfield, NE; grandchildren Bycen Shelby, Kaycee, Esther and Colton Brown; sisters, Diana Dodd of Columbia, TN, Denise Rodenbaugh of Kearney and Dixie (Tobin) Roeder of Kearney; mother-in-law, Connie Scott of Elm Creek; as well as, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Lavern Albrecht; and brother-in-law, Danny Albrecht.
