Bio

Joyce Templeton, age 85 of Gallatin, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. Interment will be at Sumner Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Templeton was born November 4, 1939 in Gallatin to the late Edward Kenneth McWhirter and Eura Lee Perry McWhirter. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by granddaughter, Hannah Grace Brown; grandson, Blake Stewart; daughter, Sherry Wilson; brother, Eddie Ray McWhirter; and beloved pet, Jack. She is survived by husband of 68 years, Franklin Hunter Templeton of Gallatin; daughters, Kim Brown (Gary) of Gallatin and Lisa Templeton of Gallatin; son-in-law, Danny Wilson of Castalian Springs; sister-in-law, Patty McWhirter of Nashville; grandson, Daniel Brown (Contessa); several nieces and nephews; and several cousins. Joyce was an avid gardener and enjoyed taking care of her family. She retired from Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin after many years of service.
