John Curry, oldest known s. of Isaac Curry and Rhoda Gresham, b. Dec. 20, 1785 at Pittsylvania County, Virginia. He d. March 16, 1861 at Ash Grove Twp, Shelby County, IL. On Apr. 27, 1805 at Jefferson County, TN, John m. Elizabeth Elliott, dau. of James, b. Dec. 1, 1786 at "Old" Greene County, NC at that part that became Jefferson County, TN. She d. June 11, 1873 at Ash Grove Twp, Shelby County, IL. John Curry and Elizabeth Elliott had the following nine children b. at Tennessee before the family relocated from Lincoln County, TN to Shelby County, IL: • i. Isaac J. Curry , b. Mar. 26, 1806, d. May 28, 1897 at Sexson, Shelby County, IL; m. Apr. 13, 1839 at Lincoln County, TN, Mary Enochs, who d. Mar. 3, 1886 at Ash Grove Twp, Shelby County, IL. Eight children of the family. • ii. James E. Curry, b. Dec. 19, 1809, d. Oct. 24, 1845 at Shelby County, IL; m. May 15, 1829 at TN, Mary Wilson, who d. Oct. 20, 1853. Three children of the family. • iii. John N. Curry, b. Sept. 26, 1811; d. Mar. 7, 1856 at Shelby County, IL; m. Jane Heartgrove Dickson, dau. of Joseph Dickson and Eleanor Rankin, b. Dec. 18, 1816 at Rutherford County, TN. She d. Apr. 6, 1884 at Shelby County, IL. Ten children of the family. • iv. Rhoda Eveline Curry, b. Feb. 15, 1815, d. Oct 25, 1880 at Sullivan Twp, Shelby, IL; m. Nov. 1, 1832, Albert G. Frazier, b. Apr. 1, 1809 at Caldwell County, KY. He d. Oct. 10, 1869 at Shelby County, IL. Six children of the family. • v. Silas Curry, b. Feb. 20, 1817, d. Jan. 22, 1895 at Shelby County, IL; m. 1) Dec. 13, 1836 at Shelby County, IL, Elizabeth Caroline Price, b. Aug.14, 1818 at KY, d. Sept. 10, 1863 at Shelby County, IL. Eight children of the marriage. Silas m. 2) Jan. 5, 1864 at Shelby County, Tabitha (Reed) Renshaw, by whom he had one child. • vi. Sarah Emeline Curry, b. Nov. 22, 1819; m. Jan. 9, 1840 at Shelby County, IL, Nathan Y. Nolan. • vii. Jane Elliott Curry, b. Jan. 24, 1822, d. Sept. 4, 1894 at Benton County, AR; m. 1) Lawson Henderson Dickson, s. of Joseph Dickson and Eleanor Rankin, b. circa 1811 at Rutherford County, TN. One known child of the marriage. Jane m. 2) Sept. 18, 1850 at Shelby County, IL as his 2nd wife, John Nantz, b. Feb. 3, 1807 at Virginia, who d. Dec. 13, 1891 at Benton County, AR. One known child of the marriage. • viii. Malinda Curry, b. Mar. 24, 1825, d. Feb. 14, 1890 at Shelby County, IL; m. June 13, 1847 at Shelby County, IL, Lemuel Rankin, s. of Robert Rankin, b. circa 1824 at Tennessee. He d. circa 1863. Seven children of the family. • ix. Mariah Ann Curry, b. Mar. 15, 1829, d. Dec. 17, 1904 at Shelby County, IL; m. Oct. 15, 1848 at Shelby County, IL, Barry T. Webb, b. Apr. 8, 1825 at TN, d. June 15, 1903 at Shelby County, IL. Four children of the family.
