Billy M. Ridgeway October 21, 1942 - November 30, 2024 Downs Funeral Home A funeral service for Billy M. Ridgeway, 82, of Harleton, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Piney Cemetery in Harleton, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Billy was born on October 21, 1942, in Harleton, Texas to Jessie R. Ridgeway and Pearlie Irene Smith Ridgeway and passed away on November 30, 2024, in Longview, Texas. He served as a deacon at Oak Grove Baptist Church for over 40 years. He was also President of Piney Cemetery for over 40 years. He was a Master Mason at the Ashland Masonic Lodge #1138 in Diana, Texas. He was on the school board for many years at Harleton ISD. He was a servant first to God, then to his family and the community. He loved working on his farm, taking care of his cows and loved helping others. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Irene Ridgeway; his wife, Janice Omelia Ridgeway; two brothers, J. R. Ridgeway and Glenn Ridgeway and one sister, Mary Ridgeway. He is survived by his son, Keith Ridgeway and wife, Ashley and his daughter Shauna Michelle Floyd; sister, Shirley G. Smith and husband, Billy Joe Smith; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren along with numerous other family and friends.
