Bio
Betty Jean Valasek, 94, of St. Edward, Nebraska, (formerly of St. Paul), died on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the Cloverlodge Community Care Center in St. Edward. To honor Betty's wishes, her body was cremated. Private Committal Services will be held at the Aurora Cemetery. Betty was born on July 15, 1930, in Phillips, Nebraska to Lester and Grace (Landsen) Umbenhower. She grew up and received her education at Harvard High School in Harvard, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Elize Albert Crawford, Jr. To this union, children were born, Carol Rose and Thomas. After Elize passed away, she married Alfred L. Valasek. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Rose Marie Buther of Lebanon, Missouri; step-daughter, Victoria Dobson of Primrose; step-sons, Louie Valasek of Maryland and Alfred Valasek, Jr. of Omaha; son-in-law, Wayne Hormann of Loup City; 9 grandchildren; and 7 step-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Elize and Alfred; daughter, Carol Hormann; and son, Thomas Crawford.
