Chapek, 86, of Weston, NE, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 11, 2024 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo, NE. He was born January 24, 1938 in Wahoo, NE to Louis and Ludmilla (Bouc) Chapek. Leonard attended Milford Trade School. He served in the U.S. National Guard before returning home to help farm. On November 7, 1959, Leonard was united in marriage to Rita Polacek at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bruno, NE. Leonard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston, NE, Knights of Columbus #1803 and FCSLA. Leonard served on the Newman Township Board, and was a bus driver with Saunders County Catholic Schools for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rita Chapek; children, Sharon (Brian) Hagelgantz of Bennet, NE, Larry (Nancy) Chapek of Colon, NE, Greg (Traci) Chapek of Wahoo, NE, Stacy (Tom) Euler of Wahoo, NE; grandchildren, Brandon (Kylee) Chapek, Nick (Mackenzie) Chapek, Shelby Chapek, Kelsey (Mitch) Pankoke, Nathan (Rachel) Euler and Madison Euler; great-grandchildren, Kolbie, Brooks and Kollins Chapek, Evan, Callum and Millie Jo Pankoke; sisters, Arlene (Marcel) Kovar of David City, NE, Alyce Thege of Schuyler, NE and Dorothy Stewart of Lincoln, NE; brother-in-law, Gary Polacek of Bruno, NE; many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ludmilla Chapek, brothers-in-law, Eldon Polacek and Don Thege; sisters-in-law, Dott Polacek, Alleyne Polacek and Geraldine Polacek.
