Betty Ann Maggard, of Thackerville, OK, was born on April 11, 1946, in Cooke County, TX to Wayne H. and Ruth D. (Jones) Pinkston. She passed from this life on Friday, November 1, 2024, in Madill, OK at the age of 78 years. Betty graduated from Boswell High School in Fort Worth, TX. After high school, she met the love of her life, James W. Maggard, and married him on June 27, 1964. In July of 1969, they moved to Thackerville, where she made her forever home. Betty was a member of the Thackerville First Baptist Church. She loved playing bingo, dominoes, and cards with her family. She was instrumental in getting the softball league started in the late "70's" in Thackerville. She also loved pictures and absolutely loved Christmas and her Christmas tree collection. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She spent her last four years in a nursing facility and enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and talking to James on the phone two to three times daily. She also spent a lot of her free time watching Westerns and golf. Preceding Betty in death are her parents, and a great-grandson, Garilyn Swan. Left to cherish Betty's memory are her husband, James W. Maggard of the home; sons, Darrell Maggard and wife Melanie of Thackerville and Randell Maggard of Texas; daughter, Karen Moran and husband Shannon of Canyon, TX; grandchildren, Crystal Brawley, Kaci Swan, Josh Robinson, and Jenna Ford; great-grandchildren, Kasen Maggard, Kreiden Swan, Conway Swan, Easton Brawley, Rue Swan, Kawnlen Swan, and Wren Ford; brother, Bobby Pinkston of Thackerville; sister, Sue Dale of Gainesville, TX; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Murray McMurray officiating. Cremation services will be under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 100 East Main Street, Marietta, OK. Serving as casket bearers are her grandchildren.
