Bio

JoAnn Duda, 85, of Ord passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at her home northeast of Ord. JoAnn was born July 27, 1939, at Ord, Nebraska to Frank and Alice (Dworak) Naprstek. She was raised north of Ord where she received her early education then graduation from Ord High School in 1957. Following high school, JoAnn spent some time in Omaha where she did office work. She returned to Ord and married Raymond Duda. To this union three sons were born, Greg, Randy and Scott. JoAnn waitressed at the Ord Veterans Club and was a soil tester for the Bureau of Reclamation. Upon her retirement she worked at various jobs around town. JoAnn loved the farm life. She lived northeast of Ord with Gleo Warner and the couple later married. JoAnn spent time on her farm raising chickens, ducks and horses. She took pride in her large vegetable and flower gardens; and was very crafty. She was a wonderful cook who was known for kolaches and sauerkraut and dumplings. JoAnn especially enjoyed her coffee groups and attending exotic animal auctions, music festivals and trail riding. Family was most important to her, she loved family reunions and supporting all the sports activities of her grandkids. JoAnn was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, American Quarter Horse Association and was a past 4-H Leader. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Scott and Jane Duda of Broken Bow and Randy Duda of Loup City; six grandchildren, Jake, Colton, Lathan, Christine, Terri and Jeff; three great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Tish Naprstek of Ord and Allen Ray and Caroline Naprstek of Wahoo. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Greg; and granddaughter, Jenna Duda. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. Father Scott Harter will be the Mass Celebrant. Interment will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Church. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
