Published in the Ord Quiz, Ord, Nebraska Frank Naprstek, Area Resident, 86 Frank Naprstek, 86, of Ord died Nov. 25, 1999 at the Valley County Hospital in Ord. Funeral services were held Nov. 29 at 2 pm at the Ord United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Miller officiating. Burial was in the Ord Bohemian Cemetery. Mr. Naprstek was born May 17, 1913 in Howard County to Edward and Anna (Novotny) Naprstek. He was raised in rural Howard County around Elba. He was educated in rural Howard County schools. At about age 18, Mr. Naprstek drove 100 head of horses by himself all the way from Kimball, NE along the Dismal River to Ord. On Jan. 12, 1937, he married Alice Dworak at Ord. They lived in the Sandflats area of Valley County and for the past 54 years have farmed and raised cattle 10 miles northeast of Ord. He was a member of the ZCBJ Lodge. In his younger years, he had been a 4-H leader. He loved to train horses and he enjoyed raising cattle, trapping, fishing and hunting. Survivors include his wife, Alice of Ord; one daughter, JoAnn Duda of Ord; two sons, Allen Naprstek of Valparaiso and Dale Naprstek of Valentine; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward Naprstek of Lexington; and two sisters, Marg Kearney of Overton and Alice Thinnes of Lexington. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Greg Duda; a brother, Milford Naprstek; and one sister, Vernice Kugler. Contributor: Kathy Burgess Burr (47226369)
